The overall estimated cost of the paediatric unit alone amounts to about € 650,000.00; € 510,000.00 for the first stage (plus € 70,000.00 for NutriAid’s outpatient clinic). Another € 130-150,000.00 will be needed for stage two which will provide the hospital with roofing to cover about 3000 square metres including the outside patio. Additional expenditures will be necessary to equip the centre with an autonomous energy generation system, which is under study and should be based on renewable energy sources. Start up costs for the paediatric unit amount to another € 150/200,000.00 and about € 300,000.00 has been calculated for annual operational expenses which will be needed for a period of at least three years in order to co-ordinate and pursue the objectives proposed in this project.
